Rules for who can know I'm trans:
- I must know them — I don't want randoms knowing I'm trans. I should also know the number of people that know I'm trans.
- They must be a trans ally — Should be obvious, but I don't want someone who is just "okay" with trans people, and certainly not a transphobe, knowing I'm trans.
- They must keep a secret — Again, should be obvious, but if they can't keep their flapper shut, they can't be trusted with secrets as big as this. There is a very real chance I end up homeless should my family find out.
- They have to find out in a funny way — Ok, not really a rule, but I haven't had a serious coming out and it would be really funny if that continued. I want them to be lighthearted! There's plenty of things to be super serious about, I don't want my gender to be one of them. Get goofy with how you tell others (with my permission, of course).
- You can tell them — It's incredibly uncomfortable to come out, especially to someone I don't know too well. So if you want to do it for me, go for it! Just ask me first!! (Thanks, Charlee!)
And thanks for taking the time to find and read this. DM me "I found ur rules" with a screenshot of this page and I'll buy you Dutch Bros (or some other treat!) some time :)
